Nordette ®

Nordette ® is a combination oral contraceptive (birth control pill) prconsisting of ethinyl estradiol and levonorgesterel. A combination birth control pill such as Nordette ® contains both a progestin and an estrogen. Combination birth control pills are also prescribed for some cases of prolonged or painful periods, disease of the ovaries with cysts, endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, acne and the absence of menstrual periods, among other conditions.

Nordette ® is prescribed most commonly for the prevention of pregnancy but may also be prescribed for any of the conditions listed above in most cases.

For women who are not yet ready to start a family, Nordette ® 28 is ideal. Like all combination pills, it has no long term impact on a woman’s fertility.
